RON WEEKES, Proprietor, caught the “autograph bug” 47 years ago when, at the age of 13, he was given the gift of a Mayor Gordon Clinton (Seattle) signature from a family friend, Wing Luke, the first Asian American to hold public office in the Pacific Northwest. The Mayor's signature was followed by a JFK signature. By his late teens, Ron was actively buying, selling and trading autographs and evolving into a specialist of autographic material of the Catholic Church (16th through 20th Century). His collecting interests then gave way to active dealing with specialization in 20th Century poets and authors, Black Americana and Vintage Hollywood. For many years Ron was a successful entertainment journalist and publicist. His many media and celebrity contacts allowed him access to all levels of the entertainment industry. Ron Weekes has written extensively on various aspects of collecting for regional and national newspapers and magazines including Parade, The Chicago Tribune, Avenue M: the Miracle Mile, and Hobbies Magazine. Since 2002 Ron has exhibited annually at the graduate library of the University at Buffalo in conjunction with Black History Month. He is a founding donor of the Martin Luther King Memorial Fund, a member of several professional collector/dealer societies including the Ephemera Society of America, Manuscript Society, and the Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society. Ron understands the unique interests of collectors.
