Dedicated and signed book: Prater Violet. New York: Random House, (1945) 128p., first U.S. edition. Small 8vo, gray cloth. Edgeworn with moderate wear to spine. Minor staining on cover. In a good dustwrapper. Includes biographical note and photograph of Isherwood on the back cover. Dedication reads: “For Edith Wagner, gratefully, with best wishes, Christopher Isherwood, Dec. 1945.” This was a WWII era book which, because of scarcity of materials, was printed on lesser grade paper in order to conserve raw goods. Isherwood first appeared on the scene with “Goodbye to Berlin” in 1939. $ 300
